Lennox French
SparkNC didn’t just teach Lenox about technology — it gave him a place to grow, to create, and to see just how far his ideas could reach.

Lennox’s story reminds us why SparkNC exists—to give students that FIRST SPARK, that one moment that can grow into a future brighter and broader than they ever thought POSSIBLE.
Lennox from Lexington City Schools describes his story “like a tree”—each choice branching into new possibilities he never imagined. When he first joined SparkNC, it was just a flyer that caught his attention: Rocket League.
He thought it might be a course about video games. But that small spark of curiosity soon ignited something much deeper. Before he knew it, he was traveling to Wilmington and Chicago, presenting a student-created app at Apple headquarters, and designing his own virtual SparkLab in VR.
Through every challenge, he found strength in perseverance—grabbing hold of what he calls “a small thread” even in hard times, and climbing until he’s “on top of a mountain.”
SparkNC didn’t just teach Lennox about technology—it gave him a place to grow, to create, and to see just how far his ideas could reach.
