As a STEM advocate, Dawnn Breynae, has created partnerships with local and global educators, corporations, organizations and community leaders who aim to ignite a passion for STEM learning among culturally diverse youth. Dawnn joins SparkNC after working in the Extended Learning division as a Broadcast and Emerging Media Specialist at the NC School of Science and Math (NCSSM). Prior to joining NCSSM, she served as the Technology Facilitator and Testing Coordintaor for a Title 1 school. She currently serves as the Co-Curriculum Lead for the RDU chapter of Black Girls Code. By connecting young learners with mentors and relevant ongoing tech experiences, she believes that they will become innovators and economic drivers through STEM fields. She works to present students to the world as confident, critical thinkers, prepared for a variety of post-graduation opportunities. Dawnn uses her passion and expertise in multi-media and academia to inspire young scholars to research, reimagine and revolutionize the world in which they live by inspiring students to not just think outside the box, but to erase the notion that a box even exists.

Dawnn is a certified E-Learning Instructor who holds a BA in Communications: Broadcast Journalism from North Carolina State University and an MA in Educational Technology from North Carolina Central University.
